Is there a clear signal in 1st floor apartments? In the middle of a super-walmart? In the country? In the city (I live in Gainesville)? On the road?

I'm with Alltel right now. My reception is real fuzzy in my apartment, but pretty clear outside and in large buildings. My cell is the only phone I have, and I'd be paying similar amounts with either company.
