When will sprint phones be able to ready link or direct connect with nextel phones?

You need to call Sprint or nextel.

Sprints Ready Link service will never be able to directly connect to a Nextel Direct Connect phone. Ever. The plans are to upgrade the Sprint network to Rev A. When that is complete (est. Q2 2008), Sprints, and Nextel customers will upgrade to new phones. These phones will have a push to talk service called, HPPTT (Hi-Performance Push to talk). That system will be compatable with the current direct connect feature of Nextel. When any customer of Sprint Or Nextel wants to Upgrade, they will be encouraged to upgrade to a HPPTT phone. Eventually, (2012) 99% of customers will be in a HPPTT phone. Iden system will be a thing of the past.And that is the Plan........Remember.....plan B is always a possiblilty.
