can i activate a boost phone with a nextel sims card?

Okah i have an i205 boost phone. i took an old nextel sims card and put it in the phone and all my old contacts are showing up. what im trying to ask is if i buy a boost card will the phone work through boost mobile with my old nextel sims card??
