Default How can I cancel my contract with Nextel w/out the cancellation fee?

The company I work for is trying to get out of their contract because none of their employees can get service. My boss called Nextel and they stated that they were changing the towers and in order for us to get service we would have to buy their upgraded phones. My boss thought this was ridiculous because we are paying for service and now all of a sudden we can't get service due to an error on their part and in order to get our service back we have to purchase all the employees new upgraded phones. I recently heard that a judge in CA made a ruling that is illegal to collect an early cancellation fee and Nextel just had to pay millions of dollars back to all their customers who had canceled their contract early. Please help!!!
