Default In Los Angeles is Sprint a good cell phone company?

I want a cell phone from Sprint (M300 by Samsung) and I think it's only available from Sprint. I plan on moving from southern Ohio to Los Angeles and wanted to know if Sprint is a good cell phone company in LA. I plan on living around Burbank, Universal City, etc. The coverage map doesn't look bad but I've heard it wasn't good in LA.
