Our phones are good here in the Uk, but what they have in the US we had 2/3 years ago.. Why is this?

we are such a big country that technology has a hard time spreading fast and we need so many towers for reception that the phone companies cant keep up with the demand that get new ones in more areas but at the same time they have the old ones still
speaking of demand we are so big and diverse that we are harder to please but when we are those phones go fast and they jack up the prices for mer average phones and plans and the plans are ridiculous

japan has a better system BUT voice call are so expensive I'm talking $100 for like 60 min a month (around that ridiculousness not exactly accurate) and diddly squat for texting
plus that are always a year ahead in technology

You are so right. American camera phones only have 2megapixels when the one over here are up to 5megapixs.

I have a brother in northamerica and he has a phone that you need to pull out the aerial.

Can't remember the last time I saw an aerial let alone a pull out one.

America is old fashioned that's all. Behind in the times

In the US all the companies are greedy. Over here its all about money. Just like how you can get an internet connection thats 10x as fast as cable for less then half the price in other countries like Japan.

I don’t think the US give out free phones with a new contracts. They hang on to the same old phone for as long as they can, because when they renew their contract, it they want a new phone they have to pay for it! Unlike the UK, where we get a free new phone every year with every new contact renewal.
I think Americans have to pay to receive text messages!

Because the phone Services in the U.S. are NOT interested in selling people GOOD phones that LAST. -They just want to "hook" people on expensive & complicated Calling- Plans that make THEM alot of $$$.

I don't know why the leading consumer nation in the world is behind on cell phones. At least we got the iPhone at the same time as everyone else. But I agree with you. I remember I was in Korea about 5 years ago and their cell phones all worked underground in the subways.

because the us have such low value money they charge loads and blaim it on the exchange rate!

They say we don't have enough towers. Who knows? I got so riped off with my Verizon bill I got on a plan with my son in law. Only 15 a week compared to 75 I was paying and just as good.
