Are all the cell phones on the T-Mobile website the only phones for

T-mobile even including unlocked phones? I heard that just because a phone is unlocked that doesn't mean that it is still compatable with all the different services. Is that true? And are the phones on the T-Mobile website the only phones you can have for T-Mobile?
