Can an AT&T SIM card be used in a T-Mobile cell phone?

My friend busted her Blackberry and needs to borrow my phone for the rest of the week until her sister gets a new one so she can have her old one. But my phone is a T-Mobile phone. Can my friend still use the SIM with my cell?
