Default Can I switch a Cingular phone to US Cellular?

I currently have a motorolla phone with no sim card and my service is from US Cellular. I had a new phone given to me, a Motorolla SLVR l7, with a sim card, by Cingular. I was wondering if its possible to get US Cellular to just transfer my service over to the new SLVR.

No you can't switch your US Cellular service over to the cingular phone. US cellular uses CDMA technology, (doesn't require a sim card) and Cingular uses GSM technology (requires a sim card). The two service providers are incompatable. If you want to use the cingular SLVR you will have to switch to cingular, or have the SLVR unlocked and use any gsm network such as T-mobile. Good luck and I hope this helps.
