My phone is broken..The battery does not work and i cant charge my phone either because the charging pin in my phone is loose and it wouldnt get charged. I need to get a new phone. But my verizon wireless contract will only end in june 2008. And i do not want to upgrade to another 2 year contract.What will i do? I have heard that you can purchase an other phone and tell the verizon people to activate it using my number and all...please tell me wht to do..i really need to fix this problem because it's really hard getting along with out a phone..

yes u can buy any phone that works with verizon. call them or take it to a store and have them do an ESN swap. u can also do it online with ur my account. u can change ur phone at any time without doing anything to ur contract.

You sure can get another phone. The best way to do that is to buy a phone that will work on the Verizon system off of Ebay. Then, take that phone to your local VZW (Verizon Wireless Store) and have them switch your service over to it, a ESN change is all that is needed.

You can buy refurbished phones off of ebay without a contract or having to activate it. JUST MAKE SURE IT CAN BE USED ON VERIZON or you will be stuck with something that does not work

And, depending on how much your current phone is damaged (broken pins) they may be able to do a phone book swap too.
