Default Verizon wireless phone switch?

i have a LG VX8300 phone for verizon wireless. i have service on it and i want to switch to a different phone. i got a Motorola Razr V3m from a buddy of mine but its not for verizon, its for Nextech (not nextel). it doesnt use a sim card, just like verizon. Am i able to switch my number to the Razr and still be on verizon and still have music capabilities and stuff?

No, you will have to get a Verizon phone, the insides are different. I went through this when I tried to get my Kyocera switched over to Verizon. You should be able to upgrade your LG to another phone, try a KRZR instead of the V3m, I had 6 of those and they sucked. The Nextech is a prepaid phone I believe. Stick with Verizons phones, you'll be happier
