i am in the middle of my 2 year contract...and i want a new phone... is it possible to buy a phone off ebay and use it with no complications? and is buying a phone on ebay a bad idea?

It is possible to buy a Verizon phone off of ebay and activate it as soon as you receive it in the mail.
Before you buy the phone make sure you have or ask for the ESN number. Once you have this number call VZW and have them check to see if the phone is stolen or not. If it is fine then when you get it in the mail call VZW and they will activate it in place of your current phone.

Buying a phone on ebay is a fine idea. And as long as you make sure that the phone you are getting does not need a new contract you are fine and can activate it.

yes u can do that. and if u do buy it from ebay ask a lot of questions make sure its a good ESN on the phone. also make sure its not a dummy phone because they will try to do that also.

I always got new phones during my 2 year contract with Verizon and after you get it from ebay you just take it to Verizon and they will switch phones for you and I never had to pay anything. But if you get a phone off of ebay I would suggest you get a brand new never opened one.

Ebay phones are a bad idea, because the person it come from it could be damaged, or not even working properly.
