...else by Verizon? I need a phone with great sound and a strong battery that can be dropped sometimes. I don't really care that much about having a great camera on the phone, ability to surf the internet, etc.

While I don't personally own either of these phones, I do know a bit about the batteries. A battery's talk time and standby time are based off of the mAh # - typically standard batteries have an mAh of around 900 to 1000. This should give you around 3 hours of talk time. Extended batteries give more talk time. I know that the extended battery for the LG 8350 has an mAh of 1500 - this should give you around 5 hours of talk time.
