I hate the phone I currently have and since it was free (they switched out my old one since it was giving me problems) I now have to wait almost 2 years to get a new phone. I was thinking of buying one on Ebay and having it activated. I just have a few questions.
I realize I need to read feedback and make sure that the ESN is good.
If it is a newer phone, will the phone still have a warranty? I know manufacturer warranties are usually one year. Even though I get one on Ebay, will this still apply?
Also, will my insurance carry over to this phone once I switch it out? I currently have insurance on my plan.
I think that is all for now. Is there anything else I should know or any pieces of advice anyone can offer?

About the warranty, you would need to contact the seller, the insurance, probably not...since you did not purchase the phone from verizon. I have T-mobile and a blackberry pearl, that i bought from an individual, they let me switch them out though, but they said they weren't supposed to. Just tell them it was a gift or something if you need to use the insurance.

You know-Verizon itself-the site and a direct call to customer service-has been just great with my family and questions/phone problems. They have traded in, swapped out and always tell me the best way to go. On Ebay, the seller will state wether the warrenty applies and no-the insurance needs to be switched to your new phone-but Verizon would do that if they accept thephone you buy. Dbl check online on their site that they accept it-don't just go by the sellers say-We had much trouble withrazors but our chocolates are great and the newer krazors and my motorola that looks like a razor is great-
