Default My Verizon Chocolate Cell Phone fell in my pool, Can I put the battery

on a new Chocolate phone? Is the battery the memory too? or is there a memory card?
If I buy a new phone can I put the old battery on the new phone?

The phone fell inside my pool because my 3 year old was jumping from the pool stairs with his floating ring around his waist but it sliped down from his waist when my son jumped so he didn't land sitting down in the water instead he flipped head down under the water and his feet got tangled on the floating ring. I was right there close by cleaning the pool so When I saw how he landed I jumped in the water with clothing, heels and cell phone in my pocket. My son's okay by the way :-)
Thank God
but my phone was in the water for about more than a minute it does turn on but only when I connect the charger.

everything on your phone is saved to the phone not the battery.. if it turns on when you have it plugged in then I would highly recommend downloading back up assistant if you havent already to save your contacts at vzw.com, as long as you are registered to view your account online it is free

go to get it now > tools on the go or get going (option 5) > get new > top sellers > backup assistant > it will have you agree to a $1.99 monthly subscription but as long as you are registered at vzw.com it is free and you won't actually be charged

you can also upload your pix/videos & sounds you recorded to pix place, go into the picture > go to options > to pix place, that saves it at vzw.com > messaging > picture & video messaging and you can save up to 75 at no charge and send them back to the new phone

sometimes when a phone dries out it will continue to work but may have problems over time, if you have an old phone you can reactivate it until you decide what to do, you can change the ESN online at vzw.com > my verizon > my phone > activate existing or replacement equipment

if you have insurance you will need to call Asurion which is the insurance company which you can get the number from vzw (1-800-922-0204) you will have to pay a $50 deductable and they will send you another phone, if you do not have insurance or another phone to activate since it is damaged vzw can offer you a an upgrade at the 1 yr pricing as a one time courtesy as long as you haven't already been extended this courtesy in the past 12 months, you would be looking at paying around $150 but it is an option, or you can always try craigslist.org or ebay
