Verizon Cell Phone Help?

I'm looking to get the enV2. we have the family select plan. i was wondering:
1. can i take music from my laptop and put it onto my phone?
2. does it cost money to view my email of the phone? how much?
3. does it waste minutes to view vcast stuff- like music, ringtones and what not? if so, would viewing that during the night be free?
