If you like touch screen phones, you'll probably like the Dare. From what i've seen, it is quite easy to text on, although I've noticed that IMO, the screen is somewhat crowded. The Voyager costs $100 less than the Dare, and has a touch screen also. In addition, I think that it is easier to text on an actual keyboard rather than a touch screen, which the Voyager has. Nevertheless, the Dare is a very cool, modern phone. Your friends will be jealous. Also consider the enV2 and Glyde (both from Verizon).
From cnet.com, here are the pros/cons of the Dare:
Pros-
The LG Dare has an intuitive touch-screen interface, an advanced 3.2-megapixel camera, a full HTML browser, EV-DO Rev. A, and plenty of other powerful features. It also has excellent call quality.
Cons-
The LG Dare's touch interface has a slight learning curve, and we weren't too pleased with the handwriting interface. Also, the Web browsing experience was quite disappointing.
