Just like iPod touch, can I just buy the phone instead of plans???

You can purchase the phone without a plan. In order to activate it you must purchase a plan or have it unlocked. If you want an iphone i suggest you get it for free. Trainn.org is giving them away for free. follow this link http://www.YourFreeiPhone.com/index.php?ref=3923209
