u cant get an update for a firmware for 2 reasons:
3G has to do with the hardware, and cant be altered through software

and Apple is sorta cheap, so even if u could, they would never do that...they would make you buy a new one...


but yes they are, in fact, getting a 3G iPhone. the reason i say this is because Steve Jobs said it!! (the the CEO of Apple)

they are not comiing out with a 3gb. If and when they do i think it will be like a 16gb or more.

Apple will be releasing an Iphone 3G in the first quarter of the 2008 year. I would have held off and purchased one of these. Most likely there will not be an update, because you have to have 3G hardware physically inside the phone to be able to use this capability.
