I I just bought an iPhone this week directly from Apple, What firmware

version is it likely to be? Can the brand new iPhones from apple be unlocked? What firmware version are they likely to be if it was purchased directly from apple? I need to know to tell my customer. Please only respond if you are a relative expert in this area. (US Version)
