Question About the Apple Iphone jailbreak.?

Hi I have a question about jailbreaking the iphone. If you jailbreak the iphone can you get a virus or your iphone will stop working? Have you ever tried it? Can i restore it to normal and it will be fine?? please if you can download it and restore it with no prob give me the link and the info.Or is there an easier way. THANK YOU SOO MUCH
