When the 3G iPhone comes out (hopefully this year) could it theoretically work on Verizon's network since Verizon’s network is also 3G? Could somebody hack it just like that 17 year old cracked the current iPhone to work on Team Mobile's network?
I understand that the current iPhone can be used on Quad band GSM, GPRS/EDGE networks. But Apple will be releasing a 3G iPhone later this year or in '09. I'm wondering if that phone will be able to be cracked and used with Verizon's network.

It might not work on verizon. But if someone can crack it it can be used with verison too. It surely can be cracked. Infact all the CDMA phones can be cracked not just iPhone

1. The Iphone is not 3G, it runs on EDGE which is a tad slower than 3G.

2. 3G & EDGE are At&t's network

3.The Iphone is a GSM phone, its impossible for it to work on verizons network, its locked to only work with At&t Sim cards although some people have unlocked them to work with other carriers, but only customers with SIM cards.
