Default If I buy a apple iphone from apple store can i unlock it for my self,

provided if there are proper instruction What is the difference between unbricking and unlocking?

What happens if somethings goes wrong in the process of unlocking? Can the original settings be restored? Suggest me. I'm not from US/UK. I can ask one of my friend to get on for me.

a bricked iphone is one that has been damaged by an unsuccessful unlock attempt. have a look here:
