Default Blackberry Curve vs. Apple iPhone?

I'm in the market for a new phone within the next 30 days. There are reports about the iPhone, suggesting that it may not be worth it to by the 1st generation. I'm thinking about just buying the Blackberry for now. Any suggestions?
