So I am considering buying one of the two. I already have both an iPod and a cell phone, but I just love both of the touch screens. But does it cost anything to get on the internet for either?

Lol , if you have a jailbroken iPhone you would only have to pay $5.99 a month for faster internet than at&t 's or you can use free internet on a Hotspot via Wi-Fi .

c'mon man, what are you doing living in a hole of course it will cost money to use the internet..... only on the iphone. but with the ipod touch, there is only wifi so if your not in a area that supports wifi, or your not close to a wireless router that isnt unlocked, your out of luck and cant go on the internet. its 30 a month for the iphone data plan

yes you buy a data package which is for internet use and text messaging. but once you purchase the package there are no other fees, you can use it as much as you want. i believe its like 20 dollars a month. And, you're not out of luck if you're not near a wireless router-- it has its own ethernet. I rarely ever cant use the internet, works on the freeway and everything!
