apple iphone in india airtel????

can i use apple IPHONE in india with an airtel sim card.....if yes what is the procedure??...can i browse the web via gprs with an AIRTEL sim card in INDIA on iphone.....please help guys.....IS THERE ANY INDIAN USING AN IPHONE IN INDIA PLEASE SUGGEST ME OF A WAY TO BROWSE THE WEB AND USE IPHONE IN INDIA>>>>>please help
