When should I get to the Apple store for iPhone 3G?

I am planning to get their at 9:00 A.M. if it will open around 6:00 P.M. If it comes out around 8:00 A.M. then i will get their around mid-night. Does this sound like a good time to go, and will there be alot in stock?
