Reception on the Apple iPhone 3G?

Hello. This question is for anyone who has the Apple iPhone 3G. I've heard some people say that the reception is really bad with the phone. Is this true? I'm just deciding whether to wait for the Blackberry Bold or just go and get the iPhone 3G.
