What exactly does Apple's limited warranty for the iPhone 3G cover?
I have the new iPhone 3G and I dropped it leaving class yesterday and the screen cracked. It was just the outside glass part - the actual touch screen wasn't cracked and it works like nothing happened. Apparently, to get the screen fixed Apple is going to charge me $250; that's almost as much as I paid for the phone in the first place.
I was looking on Ebay and I can get the outside glass and tools to fix the screen myself for $20 or so. However, I do know that fixing my phone myself will void the limited warranty that Apple provides on it. What exactly does this limited warranty cover? Is it things like battery malfunction or if the screen just randomly stops working?
I just want to know what I'd be missing out on if I fix the phone myself and something else happens to my phone down the road. Thanks. =o)
