like many of us can afford it? Sales of the iphone were lower than expected. So i just want to know if people think they will lower prices like Sony did the the PS3.

Of course the iphone's price will be lowered. This is just the first generation of iphones. In the future...they will come out with a better and higher performance models of iphones and everyone will be able to afford them. Just like a car, when it first comes out, it is expensive. But as every year passes, the car is then upgraded. The old version of the car will lose it's value and everyone will be able to buy them, considering if they still want it. The iphone now is just a hype because of it's value. Besides, first batches always has a problem.

I think so. If 50 people buy an item at $200 but 300 buy it at $100 where's the bigger profit? Correct! So I think they will lower it. It's too high anyway. It's a cool phone but that's ridiculous. It IS a cell phone. Not a laptop. I mean come on. Seriously.

That's true historically of any electronic device - they try to get as much of the money they spent on Research & Development as quickly as they can so they overcharge for the ones that just MUST GOTTA HAVE IT FIRST!! That goes on about a year (meanwhile R&D is busy secretly updating and tweaking iPhone the Next Generation).

Then the rest of us slide in later, under the Technology wave..... when prices maybe drop down to a reasonable $199 with two year service and maybe adding a second line.

Finally the tightwads among us trickle in on the trailing edge of technology, when the iPhone becomes an iBrick (because the replacement, and hopefully less buggy version is available, and and is available for $99 (plus 1 year reactivation)...
