Default Apple Iphone?

Hi, do you know if it is true that if you have an iphone then you have to have it with a contract? Can you have it as pay as you go?

I beleive it's a £35 minimum contract + something like £230.
Put me straight off. I'm just resigning to the Apple iPod Touch instead.

actually
with the iphone u need at&t or cingular.
with cingular u DO need a contract.
but u can change the fone as much as you want.
so unless cingular/at&t has a pay as you go system, no.
you cant pay as you go.

The iPhone is only available through a contract right now. I would say closer to Christmas more wireless companies will have these as well. Just think, when the Razor first came out everyone was crazy about it and only Cingular had it.
