I live in new zealand and really want a hiptop danger (sidekick) phone. The only thing is, we dont have them and i know australia does. Is it possible to get one from australia, and put in my vodafone sim card or somehow get it connected to the telecom network(they dont have sim cards) and itll work? or is it a bit more complicated like i expect

Yes. Just make sure you buy an 'unlocked' phone, meaning you can use it in nz!.
