use cells - can we get DSL? We currently have cell phones and no land line phone service. We have phone lines to the house - people who lived here before us had traditional phone service. Can we get DSL internet without having traditional phone service- or do we have to have phone service to get DSL? Please...no rude responses about how stupid the question is. If I need to pay for phone in addition to DSL it's not worth it.
We currently have cable internet. It's just so expensive and when the cable goes out...internet goes out. I'd like to look into dsl.

If you can get cable service, you can get internet exclusively from your cable provider.

I too use a cell and live in a home that had phone lines but no service. When I contacted the phone company to order dsl they gave me a "dummy" phone number to register my connection with their phone's servers and here I am. They did state this is not a feature available in all areas yet. Just phone your phone Company. It only takes a minute to ask them. Every company has different hardware and connection options.
