Default cell phone service providers USA?

In about 7 months me and my family are getting a new cell phone service(family plan). We Had T-mobile for 2 years, liked it but decided to go with CIngular for 2 years and now we have verison wireless.... and well it SUCKS. Money isnt the most positive topic in our family and my dad said that we will probably have to stay with Verizon Wireless just so we dont have to pay the initial service charges when you start with a new service provider. That doesnt set to well with me because the Verizon service sucks.

I was wondering what you think is the best cell phone service provider in the USA when it comes to signal(how many bars), price for what your getting, & customer service? in live outside of Washington DC in Virginia.

i am mainly concerned about the different initial service charges for each carrier. which is the cheapest?
thnx.
P.S. im concerned about this because it was my idea to get Verizon because its supposedly 'the most reliable ' but yeah it didnt end up like that.

You can often find deals to avoid initial service fees. However, if avoiding those fees means you can't make calls, what's the point.

I now use AT&T and have had no complaints. Their customer service has been outstanding, service coverage the best ever and good prices.

I've used Embarq, T-Mobile, Nextel and now AT&T. As long as AT&T continues to operate the same way, I will stick with them.

verizon is going to buy alttel and then it will be the biggest provider in the u.s. i use verizon and have an occasional dropped call, but not anything to serious. i would keep verizon though, becasue you'll get the most service once they buy alttel.

if you do change, i would recomend at&t. they are currently the biggest network, my gf has att and she doensn't have any complaints.

the pricing is pretty much the same for any network. between att and verizon there is almost no difference. but you can compare plan pricing online at a carriers website.

i would def. say verizon wireless. we recently switched to it and i think everything works fine. it is the most popular as of now the majority of people of verizon. after that i would say tmobile or att prolly tmobile. but verizon has the best phones and stuff and i think you shoujld just go with your dad!
