I'm going to be living in a country for a year most likely, but all the plans I'm finding are for two year contracts. Isn't there any way for my family and I to have a one year service?
Also, we had T-mobile, supposedly for a year, they said that we would be able to get out when we wanted. We left after one year to another country and they are now charging us around 900 dollars because we cancelled our service, when they told us it would be fine. Is there anymore information on the California lawsuit saying it's illegal to do so?

I don't think there are many service providers that offer only one year contracts. However one thing u can do is to buy a prepaid plan..... i have one, and its reaalllly convienient. plus, there's no contract at all!! i really recommends it

I think Metro PS has monthly plans, if that helps.

A major court settlement in california I believe said it was illigal for charging people who want to get out a cell phone contract early. So most likely it wont matter how long you have service just knowing your reasearch and stand your ground when you want to cancel!
