Can you buy a different company's cell phone and put a different service

provider on that phone? For Instance, If I was to buy a verizon chocolate and put it on a t-mobile plan, or if I was to buy a t-mobile sidekick and put it on an AT&T plan, Would that work?

im not exactly sure. definitely no for verizon phones because they dont use SIM cards, but i dont know if it would work for two phones that use SIM cards.
