When are mobile phone companies going to standardise accessories?

Up to recently, my household had 5 makes of mobile phone, not one that can share a charger, usb or headphone.We decided to use one make only to eliminate the clutter.I suppose this applies to gaming consoles as well (eg: SP2 cannot save SP1 games and cannot use SP1 memory card. Console gamepads are incompatable with PCs)
