your description is vague,if the two wires are connected to the accessory case, then you will have to Trace back to where they were connected. My cell phone charger connects into my cigarette lighter. In any event, the red wire goes to a hot lead and the other to a ground

What I surmise from your question is that the accessory socket which is normally mounted firmly in your dash, came out when you pulled your cell phone's charging plug out and apparently broke the red and yellow wires attached to it.This I can tell you for sure: Normally, accessory sockets like your describing only need two wires at most which come from your car's 12 Volt battery (positive and negative 12 Volts). And since the ground terminal of a car's battery (the black wire or cable connected to the battery) is connected to all the metal components of your car, you really only need one wire to power your accessory socket, if the outer metal part of the socket is bolted to the metal framework of the car. This may not be helping you, but other reader's may benefit from the discussion. So you need to reconnect one of the wires that was broken, probably the red one, to the center electrical terminal of the accessory socket. That wire should be the wire that comes from the positive 12 Volt battery terminal. But the only way to make sure is to test that wire to see if it has the 12 Volts on it. You probably can't do that, and even if you did, you may not be able to reconnect it to the accessory socket if it's broken. Apparently the yellow wire is the negative ground wire that connects to all the metal of your car as described above, but ground wires are usually black, not yellow. The bottom line is that you need to find a friend who has installed their own car stereo, alarm or other wiring project and see what they say or, of course, bring the car to a car stereo shop or similar.
