I have a Razor, too and the reception sucks! Try going outside to find a signal or just use a land line when at your friend's house.

T-mobile's service does not suck, its just that crap razer.
Try using a diffrent phone with your SIM card and see if you get signal. If not...your friends basement sucks! Haha jk jk.
