Default Does anyone else find Motorola cell phones unusable?

My first Motorola in a long time was the SLVR, which was an awesome phone with just one small problem: nobody could understand me on the thing, and everyone always sounded distorted to me. I traded it for a Sony Ericsson.

Now at work I've got a RAZR V3m and I can't understand anyone on it. I work in manufacturing, so my office is on the factory floor, and it's hard enough to hear people talking to me, but it seems like the V3m makes it worse. Everything sounds distorted. I tried using my bluetooth headset from home, but even that sounded odd, and it wouldn't stay connected.

I need to replace this phone but I'm wary of getting another Motorola. Do I just have bad luck, or should I stay away at all costs.

Motorola are a half decent phone depending on what model you get. I would recommend personally going with Sony Ericsson, but that is my personal preference. I wouldn't go anywhere near LG as they tend to freeze and start working real slow after a little while. Nokias are decent too, so I think you should go for either Nokia or Sony Ericsson, if you get a choice. The next Motorola phone you get, however, could have no problems and be a totally reliable and problem free phone.

I've had pretty good luck with Motorola phones myself -- well, with one caveat.

I find that when you go for a more basic phone (a Motorola W385, for example) instead of the Super Sexy Has Everything And The Kitchen Sink model, you get more battery life and better functionality.

I had a first-generation Razr which never worked very well for me. I got bad reception and worse battery life, even though my cellphone carrier assured me that Motorolas were known to have the best reception. I believed them when I bought the Razr, because I'd had a very basic Motorola phone before that.

So, I was very happy with my old-fashioned basic Motorola, and I'm very happy with the Motorola W385 I'm using now. But I'd probably never get another Razr, RockR, SilvR, KrazR, etc.
