Default Can you still use internet and instant messenger on the t-mobile

blackberry curve without the internet plan? I have been thinking about getting a Blackberry Curve from T-mobile and I have the sidekick slide as of right now. I am wondering that if I do not get the blackberry service plan, could you still get on the internet and get on the IMing applications with the WI-FI connection?
Please Help
Thank you

you will have to have internet on your phone in order to send or receive messages. i'm really sorry to say. but it's worth having the internet on that phone because you can do alot of cool things with it. send pics, video, and download games...you really should add the internet. you won't regret it!
