Why can't I watch my videos on a sony ericsson?

i have this sony ericsson "blackberry-like" thingy, i took out the memory stick duo from its side and i put a video in it from the pc...then i took it out and inserted it back on its side slot...i then went to the "video" feature but nothing....the vid's already in mp4 format..what else am i doing wrong? pls help
