Default Will my wet Cingular phone dry out and work?

Okay so I had my phone buy the pool today and it got a little wet. The phone can turn on and off but when I turn it on, none of the other keys work except for the on and off key. Is that because of wetness or is that like a key lock or some kind of other defect? I have it drying off by a fan right now, with the battery out. Help is appreciated! =]

it should work i know some one who once dropped a phone at the beach into the ocean and it still worked, the screen stayed white all the time but it still worked. but im guessing its because of the salt water. yours should be fine because i know other people that have gotten wet phones to work again.

It'll probably work. I dropped mine in the pool once and it was still working after it dried off. What you described was what happened with mine too. Just do what you're doing and hopefully everything will be OK.

Yea, open it as much as possible, be sure to leave the battery out for the whole time. Mine was left in my pants pocket and went through the wash. It took a couple weeks, but it dried out and been working fine for over a year. Be patient and good luck.

First of all, turn the phone off and keep it off because if you keep pushing buttons while it's on, you're going to fry the battery. There is still hope for your phone. What you need to do is take the battery out and put the phone in a cup of rubbing alcohol. (Rubbing alcohol absorbs water.) After the phone has sat for a while, take it out of the cup and put it on the top of a TV, computer screen or cable box. The warmth from any of these devices is enough to gently dry out your cell phone over a period of 24 hours. A friend of mine who works for Cingular, now the new at&t, told me this trick. If it doesn't work, it could be that your phone is corroded and will need to be replaced. Do you have insurance? If not, you can find cheap phones on Ebay, just make sure the user has 100% positive feedback. I hope I helped. Good luck.
