...any suggestions? I'm trying to find an affordable phone that won't break easily, The phone is for someone who does heavy labor all day, and the phone is going to be bashed and sat on to say the least. It needs to be for Cingular (work with a sim card). Any suggestions would be wonderful!

I would suggest a sony ericsson w600i. Thats the phone I have and it is very tough and looks good too. I dropped the phone about 20 times, whether on concrete floor or down a flight of stairs, and it works just like new.

My friend had a Nokia (non flip). He did mechanic work, sat on it, bumped it into things, dropped it, even ran it over. Running it over with his car only craked the plastic. He still uses it.
Nokias tend to be pretty durable. Flip phones tend to break a little easier, from what I have seen. I've had several people come to me with their broken flip phones, and haven't had anyone come up wth a broken brick style phone.

Look on eBay for "unlocked cell" or "unlocked cell gsm"
