Still on an AT&T Wireless plan (Cingular Blue) - can I get an iphone 3g and just add

the $30 iphone data plan? ...and keep on keepin on my old one, or am I gonna have to finally give in and upgrade to a voice plan that actually has less features and costs more. My current plan suits me fine.
