Can I flash my phone from cingular firmware to Tmobile?

I got a cingular HTC 8125, and I want to flash it back to Tmobile firmware which is the carrier i am using, I downloaded the software update programe on tmobile.com. If I install this programe on my cell will I brink my cell phone.
