Default Can i have a cingular phone but?

i got a blackberry pearl from my aunt but its cingular and my family has verizon can i still use are verizon family plane with this cingular phone?

No. Verizon Wireless uses CDMA technology which is not compatible to AT&T's GSM technology. GSM uses SIM Cards while CDMA doesn't.

They are completely incompatible.

Other carriers that use:
CDMA: verizon, Sprint, Alltel, US Cellular
GSM: T-Mobile, AT&T.

no you cant, cingular is a gsm network ( uses sim cards) and verizon is a cdma network ( no sim cards) so the plan and phone cant mix.
