anyone know if a company files for bankruptcy and then proceeds to shut down th business, do people who didn't pay their bill and then were sent to collections still have to pay the bill?

,my fiancee had A LOT of trouble with ampd mobile and by th etime they sent us to collections it said we owed over 3 thousand dollars. we got a lawyer and everthing but haven't heard anything back.

Come to find out yesterday ampd mobile closed back in july. does he still owe the 3 thousand dollars

In the bankruptcy, someone bought the accounts receivable. Your buddy owes the $3k to them.
