I am thinking about switching phone companies from Verizon to Boost Mobile. I was wondering if anyone knows about the company, service, prices, complaints etc. Also, how often do they add variety to their phone selection?

I worked for Boost Mobile for two years. I would advise not switching from Verizon. The coverage is horrible and the rates are not the greatest.

Also, text messaging goes down a lot and it takes days for the tech department to fix it.

If you're going to be traveling a lot, it's not a good option. The roaming charges are outrageous on unlimited and there are lots of tech problems. If you're getting a prepaid, there are a ton of better services out there.

Either way, from an insider, I'd stick with Verizon.
